Hey Coach Vivian,
It's Jonathan Butler.  I'm not sure if you remember me but I signed up for the Culpeper Sprint Triathlon at Bobby's Bike Stop and ended up staying for your class on transitions, which helped a great deal.  My transition, as a first timer, from swimming to biking was a bit drastic but nothing I can't fix.  I kept my bike/run transition under one minute which I was happy to hear.  As for my first triathlon experience, the sprint triathlon at Mountain Run Lake awakened something inside of me, a drive to push my body even farther than I did that day, to discover my mind and body's limits.  I'm still feeling the high from crossing that finish line, so much that I plan on competing in the Luray Sprint Triathlon on August 17th.  I just wanted to say thank you for everything, from the transition class, to your encouragement, to your upbeat spirit that motivated and inspired me.  Currently, I've set my goal to compete in a half-iron man triathlon and until then, I will continue to train hard, into my college years and on.  Hopefully we will cross paths again in the future, sooner rather than later.

Thank you,
Jonathan

Six weeks ago I was a lady who didn't run, didn't know how to use bike gears, and couldn't swim.  I just finished a Triathlon relay today.  My part, a 15 mi. Bike ride and 3 mi. run.  I am a different person!  I will NEVER BE THE SAME!! Thank you so much Coaches Bruce and Vivian.

Thank you for everything that you do! I never in a million years thought that I would be able to do this. Since training with Tri Training for Women I have been so much more motivated to actually learn how to swim and conquer that. Not only do I have you and joy and all of your other great coaches to thank, I am also thankful for Darla who talked me into this in 2007. Like I've told you before, I'm determined to race in Danskin every year until i completely conquer the swimming.

Hugs!!
Linda

Vivian,
I am so STOKED!!!! I couldn't sleep most of the week because I was anxious about this damn swim and I did it.  I swam across and back. I have a little of the thrill seeking behavior need and this training has definitely fulfilled it.  I love it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi Vivian,
I know I have told you this before... but I love your training program. I felt well prepared for the race and I improved my time from the last race by 6 minutes. I am still very intimidated by the lake. I think I need get more lake practice swims. My plan was to swim free style during the race instead I used the side stroke. Anyway... I feel great about completing the race and improving my time.

Thank you for all that you do to make your training program topnotch.

Hi Vivian,

Thank you for your kind words! The triathlon was such a great experience! The swimming part was a huge challenge for me, both mentally and physically. But thankfully, my Mom helped me get through the swimming... and I was out of the water towards the fun part of my triathlon! :) In a way I still can't believe that I got through that lake. It's incredible what you can set your mind to do. You are a great teacher! Your energy, support, motivation and experience shows and it inspires many of us! THANK YOU!! You do such a wonderful job, helping women accomplish great goals that we thought we could never do...

It was such a great feeling to achieve this goal! I'm hooked and I'm looking forward to doing many more. The feeling I experienced while I was doing the triathlon, will stay with me for ever...

With love,
Maritza Danser

About Tri-Training...

A classic SPIN JUNKIE, I sorely lacked both purpose and direction in my training. Fitness efforts had been, for me, a means of weight control. That's all. Fascinated though with the sport or triathlon (I married a tri-athlete!), I was an enthusiastic spectator. I never believed... ever... I could even consider completing (not even COMPETING) a race! I didn't even own a bike and had not entered the pool to swim laps since childhood! I was an average runner at best. Then enters Vivian Arenas into my life---relentless in her efforts to CHALLENGE me to compete... this NOT so quiet voice following me everywhere... it wasn't a matter of even just encouraging; it was, simply, you can do this and you will. And better yet, you will LOVE it and have FUN!! She's so good. She was so right.

Tri-Training has taken me to fitness level I never dreamed of achieving and given me such confidence (though don't see me before a race!). I completed 5 triathlons, 4 5K runs and a 1/2 marathon this year---my second season with Tri-Training. They can't get rid of me! There is simply nothing better than getting together with an ever-growing group of active, committed, healthy FRIENDS to challenge each other (always supporting, always celebrating...) in another hard effort! I have fallen in love with every venue! It feels SO GOOD even when it doesn't feel good (enter... Pat Reilly... the ultimate task-master!!!).

The coaching team of Vivian Arenas and Pat Reilly is a perfect blend of expertise, support, organization, example, and SPIRIT! We are so fortunate here in Central Florida! Watch out! The spirit is infectious… you could be the next lucky victim!

Thank you Tri Training----see you next session!!!

Hey Coach,

I just want you to know that I am so proud of myself and I have you to thank for it. I swam on Sunday like it was nobody's business. I just got in that water in St. Pete and did my best. I did the swim in 22 minutes!! That just amazes me. I sprinted through the end of my run straight to the finish line, passing girls in my wave along the way. I've quit smoking, I've lost 8 pounds, and I've kept up healthy eating habits that will stick with me for a lifetime. I am more dedicated at work, to my relationship with my boyfriend, and with life in general. Your coaching has been an inspiration to me and I plan to continue with the training to see just how far I can really go. I've met wonderful women and made some great friends along the way.

THANK YOU!!
